Datto is looking for a Senior Manager of Training to own external training programs and strategy. As the Senior Manager of Training, you will create the training strategy, oversee its implementation by the Training Team, manage the team directly, and assess and communicate the outcomes. You will identify educational needs for our partners at all stages. The goal is to equip partners with the skills required to be successful and ensure that the information they have to do so is at their fingertips. The Training Team’s mission is to curate knowledge throughout the Datto community. The Training Team currently manages a learning management system (LMS) and knowledge base, and coordinates or owns all training initiatives for our partners. This person will report to the Senior Director of Services. They will be expected to quickly ramp up on Datto products, technologies, and processes. This job requires you to be in the office on a daily basis. 

A look inside the job:

  • Identify, assess, and deliver educational strategy to address current and future training needs throughout the Datto community
  • Maintain and develop new Certifications and Certificate programs for Datto’s products
  • Manage a training budget and recruit new talent as necessary to deliver against objectives
  • Maintain a keen understanding of training trends, developments, and best practices
  • Manage a team of training specialists who are responsible for creating content, instructional design, and facilitation
  • Oversee daily operations of the Training Team including leading team meetings, performance management, and mentorship to enable career development
  • Monitor and evaluate training programs’ effectiveness, success, and ROI periodically and report on them
  • Seek out culture-focused initiatives and position the Training Team to be Datto's strongest cultural advocates
  • Provide opportunities for ongoing professional development
  • Participate in Customer Experience strategy and help shape the ideal Datto customer experiences

Does your profile include:

  • A seasoned professional with 5 to 7 years of management experience
  • Experience leading a team of training specialists, experience with remote teams preferred
  • Prior IT Product Training knowledge, preferably in Linux, VMWare, and networking
  • Exceptional understanding of instructional design methodologies, knowledge management, and blended learning strategy
  • Proven ability to develop training curricula and conduct in depth training needs assessments with key stakeholders, and demonstrate the ROI Proven ability to drive training strategy and implementation across multiple sites
