Datto is seeking a Sr. Software Delivery & Release Manager for our business continuity and disaster recovery product line. Qualified candidates possess a thorough knowledge of quality management systems, are well versed in the application of industry standards and best practices, and have demonstrated strong tactical and strategic leadership.

You will report to the Manager of Software Engineering

A Look Inside the Job:

  • Monitor, track, and manage product increment delivery across all phases; managing technical work plan; managing technical risks and issues, escalating as needed
  • Maintain the release schedule for all core services and ensure alignment across key stakeholders
  • Facilitate release prioritization, speed, resourcing, and risk decision making with product and engineering management
  • Compile and communicate release notes in collaboration with product management and share schedules to stakeholders as required
  • Lead the end-to-end release workflows and detailed steps - to ensure on-time and effective delivery of high-quality releases
  • Manage production deployment (e.g., ensuring all internal and external work items are collected for distribution, and the distribution occurs to the correct group of potential users and targeted locations)
  • Collaborate with engineering teams and leadership to facilitate improvements in the overall development and release processes; leverage existing tools (JIRA) and research new software development, release and quality tools and technologies
  • Identify key quality metrics, establishing quality KPIs for measuring and reporting

About You:

  • 8-10+ years of experience in software release management working in an agile development environment (scrum or Kanban) including CI/CD
  • Working knowledge of JIRA or similar issue tracking / agile management tool
  • Working knowledge of Git / GitLab or similar software configuration management tool
  • Experience with relational databases and SQL
  • BS in a technical field such as Computer Science, Software Engineering, EE, or Mathematics or equivalent experience
  • Outstanding cross-team collaboration and written communication skills
  • Ability to understand and effectively articulate technical concepts to various audiences
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Working knowledge of relational databases and the ability to write SQL queries
  • Experience with branching / tagging in git
