Your feedback is turning Datto EDR and AV into unstoppable security tools

Since the beginning of this year, we’ve made several focused, customer-driven improvements to Datto EDR and AV. We’ve listened closely to your feedback and responded with updates that strengthen protection, simplify management and improve day-to-day usability. The first half of the year was a particularly strong time for new key features and enhancements added, so here is how each one adds value to your security operations.

Complete AV support extended to macOS

One of our biggest milestones this year is the introduction of Datto AV support for macOS. What was once a Windows-only solution is now a consistent, full-fledged experience across both operating systems. With this update, you no longer need separate tools or workarounds to protect Mac endpoints. You get the same reliable protection and centralized management across your entire fleet, saving time, reducing complexity and improving visibility for mixed environments.

Stronger protection with new security layers

Effective endpoint protection works best when defenses stack together rather than operate in isolation. That’s why we’ve added two critical security layers to Datto AV and EDR this year, designed to block threats early and prevent attackers from interfering with your configurations.

  • DNS Secure
DNS filtering is typically a separate product, but with Datto AV, it’s built in at no extra cost. It blocks malicious domains before a connection is ever made, adding a proactive layer that significantly reduces your attack surface. With DNS Secure, you get one less tool to manage, no additional cost to budget for and stronger protection integrated directly into your existing workflow.
  • Tamper protection
One of the first things sophisticated threat actors try to do is disable your endpoint defenses. Tamper protection shuts that door by enforcing policy integrity and blocking unauthorized changes to your EDR configurations. It’s an essential defense against sophisticated attacks that rely on stealth and manipulation.

Automation features that streamline device management

We understand that effectiveness isn’t enough — tools also need to save time, reduce manual work and make daily tasks easier. That’s why we’ve made targeted improvements to Datto EDR and AV based directly on your feedback, roadmap sessions and real-world conversations. These automated device management updates are designed to remove friction and help you manage endpoints with less effort.

  • Automatically remove inactive devices to keep your console clean and relevant. You can configure the removal window from 30 to 365 days, helping you focus only on active, meaningful assets.
  • Automatic device grouping now sorts new endpoints by OS, so you can assign policies more quickly and improve administrative efficiency.

These are small changes with big impact, giving you tighter control, better visibility and more time back in your day.

Interface and workflow updates that save time

When you rely on a platform every day, even small improvements can make a big difference. That’s why we’ve focused on refining the user experience in Datto EDR and AV, helping you move faster, reduce friction and work the way you want.

  • Dark mode
Dark mode isn’t just a visual preference. It reduces eye strain during long sessions and provides a more comfortable experience for users who spend hours in the console.
  • Redesigned alerts and devices tables
An underrated, but very valuable feature, you can now filter, resize and bulk-select columns, giving you more control over how you view and manage data. This means you can tailor the experience to how you work, whether you’re triaging issues or sorting through hundreds of endpoints.

  • New VSA workflow buttons
Quick-access buttons like “Web Remote” and “Open Device in VSA” eliminate unnecessary steps and let you jump straight into action without switching screens or copying device info.  Just one click to get where you need to go.

A growing piece of something bigger

Datto EDR and AV stand strong on their own, but they’re even more powerful as part of the Kaseya 365 Endpoint platform. These tools aren’t just add-ons; they’re the foundation of why so many customers choose Kaseya 365 Endpoint to simplify and strengthen their IT operations.

Kaseya 365 Endpoint is designed to manage, back up and secure your devices at one-third the cost of enterprise-grade solutions. No silos, no swivel-chair workflows. Just a single platform that helps you secure, manage and support every endpoint more efficiently.

That’s what makes Kaseya 365 Endpoint a best-selling solution.

Built for today’s threats, ready for tomorrow’s

Cyberthreats will keep evolving, and so will we. Datto EDR and AV are built to strengthen your security posture and help you stay ahead of fast-moving threats. Every update we’ve made this year supports that goal — blocking attacks earlier, reducing risk and giving you more control.

We’re committed to improving these tools based on real-world challenges and customer feedback — and the results speak for themselves. In an independent test by Miercom, a global leader in cybersecurity testing, Datto EDR with Datto AV achieved 99.62% malware detection and 98% zero-day threat detection — well above the industry average.
