NORWALK, CT, November 27, 2012 – Datto Inc., an award-winning provider of hardware based on-site and off-site backup and disaster recovery solutions, announced today that Datto Founder & CEO, Austin McChord, was named one of CRN’s Top 100 Executives in the IT Channel for 2012.
This annual list salutes the most influential and innovative channel executives in North America. Winners were chosen based on nominations from solution providers and ranked executives based on channel influence, effectiveness and visibility, along with business and sales impact. Among the criteria were channel sales volume, channel investment and resources, channel advocacy and visibility, and performance in UBM Channel research projects (including the Annual Report Card and Channel Champions).
A panel of UBM Channel editors made the final selections. McChord has led Datto to achieving 300% revenue growth year-over-year for three consecutive years. The Inc. 500 2012 list ranked Datto the 38th fastest growing company in the U.S., and #1 in Backup and Security, with an astounding 5,554% revenue growth over a three-year period. Much of Datto’s success with MSPs, VARs and IT Solution Providers can be attributed to Datto’s innovative backup and disaster recovery (BDR) solutions targeted for small-to-medium businesses (SMB).
Datto’s true business continuity solution, SIRIS, is still the only BDR to offer straight to vmdk backups, which enables SIRIS to perform instant local and off-site virtualization and automatic screenshot verification of backups. SIRIS has won over 15 industry awards since it’s launch in January 2011.
Datto also recently unveiled SpeedSync, a new technology for optimizing bandwidth and improving off-site backup speeds at SMB sites. McChord continues to focus on innovation and staying ahead of the technology curve, which helped land him a spot on CRN’s Top 25 Innovators group for 2012.
“We’re recognizing this year’s Top 100 Executives for their commitment to the channel,” said Kelley Damore, Vice President and Editorial Director for UBM Channel. “For 2012, our goal was to once again shine a spotlight on the most influential executives in the industry today. But we also wanted to pay homage to the channel advocates, sales and services leaders, innovators and disrupters. We salute all these leaders for their devotion to the technology channel and their willingness to adopt new strategies and policies in order to drive greater sales for partners, while positioning their own company for future growth.”
