How to Get Started with Office 365
As an MSP, Microsoft Office 365 is a major opportunity to help your clients to streamline their business. Depending on the size of a business and its specific needs, there are a variety of plans available. If you’re new to Office 365, Microsoft provides a simple and quick setup guide to get you on your way.
Getting Started with Office 365
Once you have selected a plan that is appropriate for your customer’s needs, you will walk through the purchasing process, which has four simple steps:
Provide your contact details
Create a new ID (or associate your account with an existing ID)
Review your order
Place your order
Once purchased, you will receive a welcome letter with details on how to sign into the platform and get started as the Office 356 Administrator.
To begin, sign in and go to the Setup Wizard, which will guide you through basic or advanced setup scenarios. The wizard will walk you through the process of creating new users and mailboxes, setting up directory synchronization, and migrating email from existing platforms.
If you are interested in more advanced features, the wizard will also point you toward online resources to help you deploy federation services for single sign-on across the various Office 365 services. After everything is configured on your end, your customers will receive a welcome email from Microsoft with temporary login credentials.
Remember, SaaS Apps Are Not Backup
With all SaaS applications, it’s important to remember that these tools ARE NOT backup. 1 in 3 companies report losing data stored in cloud-based applications, and these apps are no stranger to ransomware.
So, it is necessary for all users to have a third-party SaaS backup solution. And if you’re reading this, you’ve come to the right place!
Datto SaaS Protection won’t let your customers’ critical data slip through the cracks. Engineered to be the leading, one-stop shop for SaaS backup. You’ll get consistently reliable granular backups, quick and easy exports, secured data for compliance and regulatory needs, and world-class support.
