NORWALK, CT (August 8, 2014) – For the third consecutive year Datto, the preferred global provider of hybrid cloud-based backup, disaster recovery (BDR) and Intelligent Business Continuity (IBC) solutions, has been named to the coveted Marcum Tech Top 40. Sponsored by the Connecticut Technology Council and Marcum LLP, the seventh annual awards program recognizes the fastest growing privately and publicly owned technology companies in Connecticut.
“It’s really incredible to think about where Datto started and where we are today, with Partners and offices all around the world,” said Datto Founder and CEO and Connecticut native Austin McChord. “We started with the goal of delivering the very best and innovative BDR solutions at a cost-effective price point for small to medium-sized businesses, and today the same goal remains. Seven years in and I couldn’t be more proud of the entire Datto family and how we’re changing the face of information technology. This is a great honor.”
Since its start in 2007, Datto has rapidly grown each year increasing its partner base to include more than 8,000 Managed Service Providers (MSPs), Value Added Resellers (VARs) and IT Service Providers around the world. The company also boasts 89 percent of the 313 total workforce housed in Connecticut, with the remaining staff in offices based in Toronto, London, Sydney and soon to open Rochester, NY. In 2013, Datto celebrated a strong year of high double-digit growth while marking nearly $50 million in revenue, and currently is on target to reach yet another high double-digit annual growth mark for the 2014 calendar year.
Earlier this year, Datto made news by receiving $6 million in state funding for its global headquarters expansion at the Merritt 7 Corporate Park in Norwalk. With the new construction, Datto will look to hire a minimum 100 high-wage employees over the next two years. The company has already hired 85 this year. Most recently, Datto was named to the Computerworld ‘2014 100 Best Places To Work In IT’ list ranking No. 10 nationally among small companies and No. 6 overall nationally in top training programs.
At the Marcum Tech Top 40 awards gala on October 2, six category winners will be announced along with one company taking home overall winner status. Last year Datto was the overall winner of the awards program being named the No. 1 and top Fastest Growing Technology Company in Connecticut.
