Becoming cyber resilient is not an overnight endeavor. Security and resilience have been in Datto’s culture and built into our technologies from the start. Now our world-class Information Security Team leads the MSP industry.
Datto partners with MSPs to build cyber resilience and deliver peace of mind via technology, education, and advocacy. Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery (BCDR) is an established backbone of any security strategy, patch management is critical in the battle against cyber threats, and ransomware detection is essential to mitigate the impact of attacks.
Cyber Resilience is a measure of business strength in preparing for, operating through, and recovering from the eventuality of a cyber attack. Cyber resilience relies on the successful ability to identify, protect, detect, respond and recover quickly from any cyber event and combines cybersecurity, business continuity, and incident response.
Cyber resilience includes, but is not limited to, cyber security, monitoring, and business continuity and disaster recovery (BCDR) technology. However, a successful cyber resilience strategy requires a holistic approach that includes people and process, as well. It is an ongoing practice, not a one-time effort.
The NIST Cybersecurity Framework compiles industry standards and best practices into a cohesive format to help businesses manage cybersecurity risks. The Framework also helps businesses respond to and recover from cybersecurity incidents, analyze root causes, and make improvements over time.
The framework is based on five functions: Identify, Protect, Detect, Respond, and Recover. Each function represents a pillar of a successful and holistic cyber resilience practice.
Identify focuses on managing cybersecurity risks to systems, people, assets, data, and capabilities. The goal of this function is to identify and document cybersecurity risks across a business.
Protect outlines appropriate safeguards to ensure delivery of infrastructure. The Protect function is focused on limiting or preventing the likelihood of a potential cybersecurity event.
Detect defines the appropriate activities to identify a cybersecurity event. The goal of this function is to ensure timely discovery of a cybersecurity event and understand its potential impact.
Respond includes appropriate activities to take action regarding a detected cybersecurity incident. This function supports a business’ ability to contain the impact of a potential cybersecurity incident.
Recover is focused on restoring capabilities or services that were impacted by a cybersecurity incident. The goal of this function is to ensure fast business continuity to reduce the impact from a cybersecurity incident.
Our world-class Information Security team is one of the largest in the channel and is focused on protecting Datto, its MSP partners, and their SMB clients. We strengthen our own cyber resiliency with regular internal audits and penetration testing, as well as external security firm validation. We empower MSPs to become trusted advisors on cyber resiliency to their SMB clients.
Datto leverages our resources and scale to bring world-class cyber resilience to MSPs, share knowledge in the channel and infosec communities, and advocate for MSPs and SMBs in broader security coalitions, such as the Ransomware Task Force.
From proactive detection to fast, flexible recovery, Datto’s solutions prevent costly downtime and data loss in cloud applications or anywhere data resides. Products across our portfolio build the resiliency of MSPs and SMBs against cyber events.
On March 18, join us for a virtual event dedicated to cyber resilience and how to protect your business and clients in an increasingly complex threat landscape.
You’ll get actionable information on how to elevate your security posture from technical demos, executive keynotes, guest speakers, and a Q&A session. All of this is provided via an interactive virtual platform that allows you to network with Datto Leadership and your MSP peers!
