Recruiting Privacy Practices

Datto, Inc. and/or one of its direct or indirect Datto or Autotask subsidiaries (collectively “Datto”) is the controller of data we collect when we recruit candidates for positions within our group of companies. This notice describes our privacy practices that govern how we process the personal data of candidates for employment as part of our recruiting efforts. This notice does not apply to our employees, nor does it form part of any contract offered to successful candidates who are hired by Datto.

Some sections of this notice apply to you only if you are located in the European Economic Area.

You are under no obligation to provide data to us during the recruitment process. However, if you choose not to do so, we may not be able to process your application.

What Data We Collect and From What Sources

Depending on the nature of the position and how far in the recruiting process you may advance, we may collect the following information: name, address, other contact information, resume, qualifications, skills, work experience, educational history, previous positions with Datto or another portfolio company of our private equity sponsor you may have held or applied for, reference notes, interview notes, test or assessment results, background check results and other biographical information.

We collect some of this data from you if you apply for a position with us directly. We may also collect data from recruiters, third party employment sites and services, social media or professional directory sites, personal referrals or recruiting events or programs. We also collect data about you from other sources such as references, prior employers, Datto employees with whom you interact or interview, background check providers and testing services.

We use the information we collect to identify and evaluate candidates for positions within our companies. We also use the information to comply with our legal and compliance obligations and to improve our recruiting practices

Legal Basis

We process your personal data for the purposes described above, as applicable, when we have your consent to do so, when necessary to enter into an employment contract with you, based on our legitimate interests as an employer that recruits candidates for positions within our group of companies, or as needed for us to comply with our legal or compliance obligations.


We may share recruiting data within our group of companies. We also share certain data with third party service providers whose tools or services we use for recruiting candidates, applicant tracking services, administering and evaluating pre-employment screening and testing, and improving our recruiting practices.

We also share recruiting data with our private equity sponsor, Vista Equity Partners, and its affiliates, including Vista Consulting Group (collectively, “Vista”), for its administration, research, database development and business operation purposes. Vista processes your personal information on the basis of its legitimate interests in overseeing the recruitment process and, if applicable, your employment relationship with Datto. If you consent to us doing so, we may share your personal information with other Vista portfolio companies for the purpose of being considered for other job opportunities with those companies, both inside and outside the EEA. When recruiting data is transferred from within the European Economic Area or Switzerland to an area outside, we put in place adequate mechanisms to validate such transfers and protect personal data, including Standard Contractual Clauses. If we transfer such recruiting data to third parties, we do so only if the parties to whom we transfer data comply with appropriate transfer mechanisms such as the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield or Standard Contractual Clauses.


We retain recruiting data we collect for as long as needed to assess your application for a position with the company and in order to meet our legal and compliance requirements.

If your application is successful, personal data gathered during the recruitment process will be transferred to your employment file. As part of your employment file, it will then be governed by our Employment Privacy Practices.

If your application is unsuccessful, we may keep your personal data on file in case there are future employment opportunities for which you may be suited. You are free to request at any time that we do not keep your data for this purpose.

Data Subject Requests

If you are in the European Economic Area you have the right to contact us to review, correct or request that we delete data that we may have collected about you as part of our recruiting programs. Please visit to make your request. We will review your request and respond to your request within a reasonable amount of time.

If you are in the European Economic Area you have the right to lodge a complaint with an appropriate data protection authority in the United Kingdom.
