Software Engineer II - DWI (BCDR)

About the Datto Software Engineering team…

Our engineering teams work directly with stakeholders in our product, sales, and technical support departments to build the right solutions, the right way, so we can continuously deliver reliable, high-quality products to our MSP partners. We speak many languages like Scala, PHP, Java, C#, Ruby, English, French, Spanish, Korean and Mandarin to name a few, but what’s most important is technical excellence agnostic of language. We embrace Agile principles and bring those values to how we work. Collaboration, teamwork, open communication, and transparency are vital to our success. Our team embodies these values as we work together to solve complex challenges. Trust and accountability are the pillars of our company, and having a can-do attitude is central to being a team member.

As a Software Engineer II, you will be part of an agile development team working on web applications and services that support our BCDR product line. This includes our partner portal where all our MSP partners log in to manage all their assets across connected systems: BCDR, SaaS, Networking, etc. Here they can manage all SIRIS and agents to back up and restore, create virtualization, etc, traditionally on premise. The team is taking the lead in advancing these specific components to the Azure environment.

You are a true full stack developer, well versed in front-end technologies such as html, css, javascript, and typescript as well as back-end technologies such as Linux, PHP, databases, OOP, and API development. You are equally comfortable with web application frameworks, services, libraries, and design paradigms such as Symfony, RESTful APIs, JavaEE, Spring, React, and message queues. Many of our applications are built on Linux and PHP but if you have a solid background in Object Oriented Programming and web application frameworks you will be fine.

Your enthusiasm, self-motivation and technical acumen makes you a key player in the group. You thrive in a very fast-paced, dynamic, inclusive workplace, comfortable in Agile sprints, CI/CD SDLC environment. We think 2+ years of professional experience should get you the seasoning needed for the role. A strong academic background in Computer Science, Engineering or other technology discipline or equivalent years of professional experience is preferred.

Note: We are looking only for candidates willing to join us directly as W2 employees (No 3rd party candidates)
