Datto is looking for a Senior Security Analyst (L3) with a broad vision and a deep understanding of the cybersecurity tradecraft. Responsible for leading incident response efforts for all varieties of anomalous behavior on the Datto network both external and internal, the Senior Security Analyst role demands advanced cybersecurity expertise and determination. This role demands an assertive but open-minded critical thinker willing to suggest and implement innovative solutions to combat sophisticated adversaries. This opportunity is for a candidate ready to be a key contributor to the Datto Security Operations leadership and vision, including an expectation to make decisions independently from a geographically and temporally distributed team.

You’re an experienced cybersecurity analyst who loves the puzzles offered by being a technical individual contributor. You navigate levels of conversation from detailed to conceptual well and engage new problems at the right level. Perceptive to differences between proximate cause and root cause during analysis and investigation. You have deep concern for what you don't know and seek to understand it. Mission oriented, capable of putting ego aside and pursuing problems in the context of achieving the goal. Can switch between tasks, projects, incidents with agility and can budget time in a quality way.

A Look Inside the Job:

  • Serve as the highest escalation point for technical analysis and response leveraging superior technical knowledge of adversary tactics, techniques, and procedures.
  • Lead and/or provide critical leverage to security engineering projects of varying size, scope, and technical complexity to enhance the intrusion monitoring posture. 
  • Strategize with leadership on the direction of the security operations program as a lead contributor.
  • Stay up to date with news and trends in information security including new vulnerabilities, methodologies, and products.
  • Command incident response efforts and be able to correlate multiple data sources applying various analytical techniques.
  • Create and track investigations to resolution as needed both internal to security operations as well as holding other department members accountable.
  • Provide subject matter expertise during meetings with senior leaders and business security partners.
  • Provide mentorship, training, and development to junior tiered analysts
  • Holistically deploy, maintain, and tune new security controls and alerts critical to the security mission at Datto.
  • Create, maintain and execute incident response play books as needed.
  • Work with other teams to identify, resolve, and mitigate vulnerabilities and risks.
  • Work with vendors and other third parties independently in pursuit of program goals.
  • Generally, works to solve security challenges at scale while balancing usability, stability, scalability and performance.

About You:

  • 5-7 years of experience in an intrusion monitoring and incident response role.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a technical field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Relevant certifications from ISC2, ISACA, GIAC or similar.
  • Strong oral and written organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Strategic thinker and problem solver with excellent analytical and reporting skills.
  • Network/host-based intrusion analysis, malware analysis, and threat intel.
  • Highly experienced in incident management, crisis management, and/or breach response.
  • Knowledge of advanced attack vectors.
  • Data analytics used in detecting patterns of anomalous behavior.
  • In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity monitoring and incident response procedures.
  • Solid understanding of network protocols and architecture.
  • Ability to leverage both open-source and commercial tooling to quickly close investigations.
  • Broad information technology experience in designing remediation plans.
