Regional Financial Controller - APAC

The Opportunity

Join Datto as our first regional Financial Controller for the APAC region, reporting into the Assistant Controller. You will oversee the controlling and supervision of multiple Asia Pacific entities, driving the quality of financial information within the region and representing Finance on regional matters, including support for expansion into new territories. You will also be responsible for local Statutory Audits, and support for the Datto Group Consolidated audit. 

A Look Inside the Job

• Own the resolution of any significant finance issues for the APAC locations
• Ensure that there are strong effective financial controls across the APAC locations in line with group guidelines.  Monitor key balance sheet items
• Work closely with US Headquarters and Local Management to challenge assumptions, ensure timely updates and help improve the overall reporting and planning process
• Responsible for ensuring that the finance function meets the needs of the APAC business, working effectively with local business heads and complying with agreed finance processes
• Responsible for keeping up to date with the latest developments in financial reporting for the APAC entities and ensuring the statutory reports and tax filings are filed on time
• Work closely with, including regular communications and monthly results, corporate functions including Finance, Tax, Treasury, HR/payroll
• Work as part of the Asia Pacific Leadership team to support the APAC business plan
• Assisting in monthly and quarterly reporting, tax and internal control packages to US headquarters
• Responsible for local provider relationships and execution of routine reporting and financial statement/tax return preparation.  Engage local firms as needed
• Review processes and propose solutions for efficiencies including system modifications.
• Participate in special projects, such as due diligence for acquisition targets, integration of subsidiaries post acquisition, debt issuance, etc.

About You

• Ability to ensure best practices for APAC compliance and reporting requirements
• Track record of business partnering and working closely with a Senior leadership
• Experience working for a global company. Experience working for a US company, including knowledge of US GAAP
• Public Accounting / Audit experience strongly preferred
• Collaborative team player and contributor to positive company culture
• In addition to the responsibilities for the monthly close, the ability to manage projects including, development and tracking of timelines/action plans and communication of progress
• Strong analytical skills, written and verbal communication skills
• Chartered Accountant or equivalent designation
