The Computer Server Technician Supervisor is ultimately responsible for effectively managing the quality control technicians and upholding the quality standards of the Supply Chain Operations department. This position will oversee and perform the day to day operations of the QC team; inspecting, imaging, testing, and certifying the servers for Datto’s customers. The Supervisor will be expected to assign work, implement policies and procedures, and recommend improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures, and working conditions.

The Supervisor is part of the leadership team within the Supply Chain Operations Department and reports directly to the Director of Supply Chain Operations.

A Look Inside the Job:

  • Manages the QC team (5 direct reports); communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Works on the production floor with the team to; Inspect server builds per Quality Checklists, image servers with Datto OS, perform multiple tests on newly completed servers and returned defective devices, and troubleshoot non-functioning devices
  • Attends daily production meetings and provides departmental updates.
  • Works with the Continuous Process Improvement team to review testing data/reports, and implement new policy/procedures
  • Works cross-functionally to investigate hardware and software issues
  • Support the rest of the Supply Chain Operations Leadership team through continuous improvement efforts, taking ownership of multiple departmental projects, and executing on the departmental strategy

About You:

  • 3-5 years of experience managing direct reports
  • Experience with Linux and Windows Command-line utilities
  • Experience with server hardware
  • A+ Certification (Preferred)
  • Continuous desire to learn further process improvement techniques and apply them
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft and Google suites
