Say "Thanks" to Your SysAdmins
It’s that time of the year again, SysAdmin Day!
Keeping your server running and avoiding downtime, troubleshooting when you have a problem, training users, and updating hardware and software are just a few of their responsibilities that keep things running smoothly at your office.
Besides, it’s basically always open season on your data, and someone has to help keep it safe.
You probably shouldn’t wait til today to show them how important they are. After all, a system admin is kind of a big deal. But it’s not too late, you can still show you care.
In a constantly evolving field, SysAdmins always have to be one step ahead. Whether it’s the changed landscape due to ransomware, adapting their focus and specialty to fit the organization, or being ready for what’s next. To put it lightly, they have their hands full.
You can also show them you care by making their job easier. Make sure you go through your basic troubleshooting before you contact them, give them a detailed explanation of what’s wrong with your support ticket, and follow the appropriate procedure when requesting assistance. In other words, help them help you.
It’s not too late, get together a fruit basket, or a case of Red Bull, or maybe some candy. Show your System Administrator how thankful you are!
