Rob Rae Named Vice Chair Of CompTIA Vendor Advisory Council

By Chris Brunau

Datto’s Vice President of Business Development, Rob Rae, has recently been appointed Vice Chair of the Vendor Advisory Council at CompTIA, the non-profit association for the technology industry. As Vice Chair, Rae will engage with a group of executives and leaders from across the information technology community to set strategies designed to advance the industry.

CompTIA's Vendor Advisory Council explores the key issues and inflection points facing hardware manufacturers, software vendors, carriers and ISPs. Rae will provide CompTIA’s executive leadership with guidance on the programs, education and research currently offered by CompTIA for their members.

“I’ve been actively involved in CompTIA for a decade and find their research, events, and community to be invaluable,” said Rob Rae. “Given my admiration for the work this organization does, I’m beyond thrilled to be taking on a leadership role.”

Consistently recognized as a thought leader in the IT channel, Rae frequently contributes to popular IT and channel publications. In 2016, Rae has been recognized with several channel awards including being named a CRN Channel Chief, a ChannelPro 20/20 Visionary, as well as being named to The Channel Company’s Top Midmarket IT Executive list.
