How Well Do You Know Woz?
Aside from being a founder of Apple, one of the most successful technology companies in the world and a Silicon Valley icon and philanthropist, there are some lesser-known facts about our keynote speaker.
He has a street named after him. Woz Way is located in San Jose, in Silicon Valley.
He once gave a Game Boy to President George H.W. Bush and Mikhail Gorbachev.
His favorite game is Tetris. He would often submit his best score to Nintendo Power Magazine, constantly landing the highest score so, so the magazine stopped printing his name. He submitted his name backwards as Evets Kainzow and found his way back to the top of the list.
He competed on Dancing with the Stars in 2009 with Karina Smirnoff.
He is a third-degree Freemason. He was initiated in 1980.
He’s been portrayed by various actors in movies: Joey Slotnick in Pirates of Silicon Valley (1999), Jason Hillhouse in Golden Dreams (2001), Josh Gad in Jobs (2013), and Seth Rogen in Steve Jobs (2015).
He’s appeared on an episode of The Big Bang Theory.
He is a member of the National Inventors Hall of Fame for his integral work on the personal computer.
He helped in the design of a prototype for the Atari game Breakout in 1976.
