How Managed Print Services Can Add Business Continuity

One area of infrastructure security that is often overlooked is the print environment. This provides a major opportunity for managed print services providers to add to their offering and implement managed IT services, something we have begun to see an interest in at Datto.

According a 2015 Quocrica analysis of the managed print services, 65 percent of respondents indicated that their organizations plan to increase expenditure in IT security. As we noted in a previous blog, IT security threats continue to rise and printers are as vulnerable as any other networked device. 75 percent of respondents indicated that security was an important or very important factor in their decision to adopt managed print services; and 70 percent of respondents reported at least one printer-related data loss incident in the past year. If security is a top concern among clients, perhaps data protection is as well.

Bridging the cybersecurity gap that is often found in the print environment is creating a huge opportunity to grow your business as a managed print shop.
