Ransomware News: Cyberattack Targets Connecticut State Agencies

By Chris Brunau

A cyberattack targeted various Connecticut state agencies over the weekend.

The ransomware attack originally occurred on Friday, February 23 and the state contained it by Sunday night. Luckily, most state computers were protected by antivirus software and there are currently no reports of encrypted files or data loss.

According to state officials, the attack targeted roughly 160 computers in a dozen agencies across Connecticut.
