Small businesses are taking more and more advantage of the entire suite of services Office 365 has to offer. After Microsoft reported a 31 percent growth in their commercial business, it’s no surprise that MSPs need deeper coverage of Office 365 from a backup perspective.

Why?

SaaS vendors offer native recovery options that often fall short. When it comes to Office 365 backup, it's important to have an independent second copy of your data handy - even Microsoft can experience downtime that halts your business.

With Office 365 growing at a rapid rate, we recognize that our products need to evolve accordingly. As of recently, Datto SaaS Protection now backs up Exchange Tasks in Office 365!

All existing SaaS Protection account admins will now see a new “Tasks” toggle when they navigate to Exchange in the Product’s UI as shown below. We’ve already pushed a backup in our most recent 3X daily runs, so you should see historical data on your users when you first navigate to the Exchange screen.

The ability to recover all of the critical pieces of your client’s environment is key to solidifying your reputation as a go-to tech expert. We’re excited for even more product announcements coming in the future.

Note that Tasks are restored to the folder in which they were previously stored. To find out more details and see how a restore will appear in the live environment, checkout this KB article on the release.

For MSPs not protecting their client’s Office 365 environment, Datto SaaS Protection won’t let that critical data slip through the cracks. Engineered to be the leading, one stop shop for cloud-to-cloud Office 365 and G Suite backup, SaaS Protection gives you consistently reliable granular backups, quick and easy restores and exports, secured data for compliance and regulatory needs, and world-class 24/7/365 support.
