A DattoCon16 Retrospective with Brooks Borcherding

By Melissa Stanton

Brooks Borcherding, Chief Revenue Officer of Datto has been with the company for a few months now and has been preparing for DattoCon16 since he started here back in December. Exceeding capacity and expectations, partners have been giving positive feedback with over 400 partners already registered for next year’s conference.

The conference started with CEO Austin McChord’s kickoff and announcements, which included some big news on Backupify and the cloud to cloud space. Also introduced were some new O365 offerings, including One Drive and SharePoint.

Datto Drive has expanded to over 5,000 users since it’s launch in May, with its ever-adapting new feature functionalities that are planned for the summer.

DNA (Datto Networking Appliance) has evolved quite a bit, taking feedback from early adopters and we’re finally out in Beta now, “the core feature of that service is the redundant connectivity with the embedded LTE service so should the site loose primary connection to the service spider it would fall over seamlessly to LTE… we are going to be adding UTM security services to that device as well.“

For even more updates and Brooks’ take on the conference itself, listen to the podcast.
