Technical Tips for Working with Datto’s Screenshot Verification Technology

BY Chris Brunau

In this week’s technical podcast, Kevin Williams, Technical Support Expert, and Jackson Camp, Technical Trainer, discuss configuration options and troubleshooting tips for Datto’s Screenshot Backup Verification technology.

As a quick overview, Datto’s patented Screenshot Backup Verification technology is designed to offer proof that backups are successful and verifies that restores can be performed. Following a backup, the system automatically boots virtual machines from the backup and takes a screenshot when completed. An alert is then emailed directly to you (and your client, if desired) confirming that the backup is successful. In the event that the boot fails, details are provided explaining what went wrong. The frequency of alerts can be configured to meet your specific needs.

Kevin and Jackson will give an overview of Screenshot Backup Verification, the various settings and configurations, and some troubleshooting tips for common issues you may run into.

As always, we recommend that you reach out to the new Datto Academy or the Knowledge Base, which for additional resources on these topics.
